"Pokémon GO" was recently updated, though there wasn't any noticeable difference after it was rolled out. Fans now speculate that Niantic have hidden something bigger than what meets the eye with the recent change disguised as a subtle addon.

A recent report from Games Radar indicated that instead of just being an empty update, Niantic actually released some new content, though they were still locked away despite being already within the game files by those who have "Pokémon GO" installed. These includes some new moves, evolution items and shinies.

The news came after Niantic's approach to communicating with fans happened to have been improved by integrating an in-game news feed. This would be an easier way of reaching out to all players and in a very streamlined manner.

The hidden content happens to include 38 additional moves, though non of them are activated as of yet. The source stated that a number of graphical effects are also just waiting for a server-side switch to be activated, which is also the case with the rest of the hidden content.

Items such as Sun Stone and King's Rock also happened to be hidden in the codes and these interesting possibilities that may introduce some core series mechanics to Niantic's "Pokémon GO." However, there's no telling whether the mentioned items will be working exactly as how they do in the handheld versions.

As Mic have also reported that there's a strong possibility of a breeding mechanic to be introduced soon. A number of players have started spotting different gendered pokémon, which occurred on Pikachus anr Raichus.

However, besides the variation of gender, some communities are not seeing any real point to dividing the pokémon species to male and female ones. However, appearance could possibly be one factor for aiming to get different genders, similar to the discovered Pikachu from "Pokémon GO," which had a heart-shaped tail, possibly indicating that it's a girl.
