The season 7 episode 8 of "Dance Moms" started right away with a controversial decision by Abby Lee Miller. Everyone, including the other moms and dancers, expected Nia to the top of the pyramid this week, given her leadership which led to the group win in the competition, but Abby had other ideas.

Gossip and Gab reports that Abby instead put Camryn at the top of the pyramid. Holly went right on defending her daughter, backed by other moms. Nia also spoke up and defended herself against Abby, Nia claimed that if Maddie was the one who led the group number, Abby would not hesitate to put her on top.

As for this week's competition, the "Dance Moms" group will go to Phoenix, Arizona, where the two solos will be performed by Lilliana and Elliana. The group piece, meanwhile, will have the dancers acting like gravediggers in a piece entitled "Six Feet Underneath." Abby does not think that Maesi has what it takes to dance the piece so she's not allowed, which upsets Jaime.

Buddy TV states that since Abby wanted her dancers to know more about gravediggers, they were brought to an actual cemetery. They realized how hard it was to be a gravedigger.

With the moms wondering who will be the team leader, Yolanda makes herself known to Abby by demanding that she focus on practicing Elliana for her solo. But Elliana forgets her dance, which makes Abby mad enough to stop her rehearsal.

It gets even weirder on the day of the competition when Yolanda actually arrives at the venue dressed as Charlie Chaplin, which is the theme of Elliana's solo. Abby and the rest of the moms do not believe that what Yolanda did was supportive for her daughter, Elliana, who does not do too well on her solo compared to Lilliana, while the group dance proved that the ALDC are getting even better.

During awarding, Elliana only gets fifth place while Lilliana wins first place for her solo. The group dance also comes out as a big winner in their category, giving them three consecutive wins.
