The launch of the second generation of Pokemon on "Pokemon Go" has been hinted at by Niantic with Legendary Pokemon on the way. A new message hinting at the next big update was reportedely sent out by the developer.

Many "Pokemon" Go events from Niantic are expected to be held this year. The Halloween, Christmas, and New Year events were celebrated last year.

According to Yahoo! News, to get players' opinion on "Pokemon Go" events expected in 2017, a Twitter Poll was recently held by Niantic. On January 12, the results of the poll were announced.

A Halloween Celebration was chosen by 54 percent of respondents. A Holiday Season Part 2 was chosen by 19 percent while the Holiday Season Part 1 got 9 percent. 18 percent chose a Thank You event.

The first event for the year has already been held. The New Year's event was included as part of the Christmas event update. The company treated the events as celebrations but players focused instead on the updates, such as the Santa hat Pikachu and Baby Pokemon, that came with the events.

The newspaper Birmingham Mail reported that Niantic appears to be about to release another update. More Pokemon are set to arrive with the launch of the Gen 2 update of "Pokemon Go".

Around 100 new Pokemon will supposedly be added to the game with the update. Reportedly, the update is to be slowly released over the months ahead.

So far, the only update has been Baby Pokemon which were brought out on December 12. The rest were said to be scheduled to be released this year.

Niantic wants to ensure players stay involved with the game. The next big update may be hinted at in a new message that the developer was said to have sent out. A reference to Professor Willow giving players their first Pokeball, may mean additional Pokemon may be released very soon.

Legendary Pokemon are supposedly to be released soon. The update is finally expected to be rolled out by Niantic in the coming months. Since most players will be able to go outside after Winter is over, when Spring and Summer arrives, the developer has delayed the release of the update.

An exact date for the release of the update has not yet been revealed. The initial Legendary Pokemon are expected to arrive during a Spring event. The "Pokemon Go" event may occur around May 2017.
