Audiences can expect to see some surprises form Jerome's return. "Gotham" is using his Joker in an awesome way in Season 3.

According to TV Guide, Jerome, who is played by Cameron Monaghan, is the most thrilling villain in "Gotham". Over the course of the last few years, many memorable characters have been produced by the show. None has become as popular as the proto-Joker.

His fascinatingly unique brand of madness has made him an instant fan favorite with audiences. Last year, when he was killed by Theo Galavan, most people were shocked by what happened.

After more than a season being presumed dead, the show's stand-in for the Joker will be making a grand return. Thanks to the dark experiments of Hugo Strange, who is played by BD Wong, Jerome will return from the dead. Jim Gordon, who is played by Ben McKenzie, and the rest of Gotham City will find out what his resurrection means for them.

Gotham executive producer John Stephens said that it will be the same Jerome but altered. He will not be as nice as he was before. He said that someone who has essentially died and come back to life will obtain a very different perspective. He will have a grander point of view. It will be strange to describe him as more psychotic than he was before.

Jerome will have a three-episode arc before he leaves "Gotham" once more. Entertainment website Cinema Blend reported that when the second half of the third season of the show begins, the character will make his return. He will have a very profound effect, an immense impact on the young Bruce Wayne during his short stint.

Stephens explains that Bruce really gets pulled into the Jerome story. This contributes to the growth of what eventually will be the Batman philosophy. Jerome's return to "Gotham" as the stand-in for the person everyone knows is out there, is a significant part of the Batman mythology.
