For several seasons and episodes that "Hawaii Five-O" was airing, Maski Oka recently announced that he is leaving the show. This Japanese-born star moved in LA when he was six years old. He graduated from Brown University and it was there where he got his first showbiz working career for visual effects company.

Oka, who is 42 years old, first joined the show as Dr. Max Bergman way back 2010. It can be remembered that it was during the inaugural season of this long time running CBS show. For a long time, his character was the mainstay and just recently, in the Friday's episode, the Japanese star said goodbye to his fans and viewers, as per NY Post report.

Playing the role of Dr. Bergman, he has been able to assist Five-O in solving several crimes up to the fifth episode of the series. He also had taken a break from his sabbatical to work with doctors during season 6. Although Oka returned to his character in the annual Halloween segment, he will be leaving in episode 13 as he will move to Africa with his new bride Sabrina (Rumer Willis).

Many were asking what made him come up with the decision of leaving the show, and Oka told the reporters that he is going off to Africa and most of his business is in Los Angeles and Japan. According to him, he has been blessed working for the show for seven years and it got to the point where the producers were already so gracious unto him. This will be his kind of reprieved from being on the show, Entertainment Weekly reported.

However, Oka also gave his final speech before bidding goodbye. He said that he'll be always available and always reachable through his emails. Hence, telecommute is always open for him despite being out of the show.
