The most surprising of all fighters gets a chance to compete in The Contest. Comic book trivia ace Gwen Poole is now available for players to fight with.

According to entertainment website Bleeding Cool, Marvel Contest of Champions is unveiling the new hero. Gwenpool is an extremely popular character in the Marvel Universe.

The official website of Marvel Comics reported that Kabam Game Designer Simon Cameron and Art Director Gabriel Frizzera discussed the blonde superfan and the impact she will have on the Batterealm. Gwenpool is a little less normal than most of the other Champions in the game. Her weirdness is similar to that of Deadpool.

Frizzera said that although she has characteristics like Deadpool, they do have different qualities. Gwen Poole is a comic book nerd who was also captured by the Collector. She is simply an ordinary human being who knows a lot about Marvel lore and story tropes.

Deadpool is a part of the Marvel Universe, therefore he has no choice in his actions. Gwenpool believes she is in a fictional universe.

She systematically controls the world around her for her own benefit, which she does in the game as well. She has played Marvel Contest of Champions in her own home universe so she knows how to play the game and which exploits she can use. She also looks great in pink and white.

The art director said that she is a very recently created character so what she appears to be in the comics is close to what players will see in the game. They made sure that she looked like a normal teenage girl who was roleplaying as a Super Hero, not a muscular athlete with an idealized body.

They also gave here some unique weapons, like a pink bazooka, the football bomb and the Special-Edition Collector Plushie which acts as a shield. She also has a very interesting ability called Plot Armor. It limits the amount of damage by her opponents based on her health.

Gwenpool can't be killed by a special attack once her signature ability is unlocked although her health can still be depleted to very low levels. This ability is perfect for fighting boss battles. Gwenpool will be available to be played in Marvel Contest of Champions starting January 5.
