Diablo II's Dark Wanderer makes an appearance in Hearthstone's Tavern Brawl for the week. As previously announced, Diablo has started making its way into the rest of Blizzard's games. The activities are part of the 20th anniversary celebration of Diablo.

According to mobile gaming website Touch Arcade, it was already widely known that in all its games, Blizzard would be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Diablo. Through this event, the Dark Wanderer was able to invade Hearthstone's Tavern Brawl.

Gaming website Destructoid reported that players will go up against Diablo II's Dark Wanderer in Hearthstone's weekly Tavern Brawl in celebration of the anniversary. A special, diabolical card back can be collected as a reward if the player defeats the Dark Wanderer. It seems simple but this event is not as straightforward as it appears to be.

The Tavern Brawl for the week of the anniversary celebration seems more like an Adventure due to it being single-player only. Players create a deck then challenge the hooded stranger who is holding a grim deck.

The Dark Wanderer may seem weak at first. He begins the game with three secrets in play already, each triggered by a condition that has a familiarity to Diablo III's hero classes.

These conditions change from round to round. The secrets are not the familiar standards from the game so players should expect the unexpected.

He also has the Hero Power Diabolical Powers right from the start. His hero power summons a random Imp to his side. The deck of the Wanderer follows the archetype of a Warlock.

The Dark Wanderer has many Warlock buffing cards since he has the power to summon Imps. A player may regret it if the Imps are allowed to survive for too many turns.

Loot drops will appear once the player has defeated the minions of the Wanderer. A player will have the chance to acquire a random weapon, some armor, or mana coins from the loot drops.

The Dark Wanderer starts with three secrets on the board but if the player can trigger all three of his secrets, the Wanderer transforms. This is a fun Diablo-themed surprise. It is a sneaky hidden bonus from Hearthstone's Diablo tribute.

His portrait will change into Diablo II's Cow King. His deck will be littered with Hell Bovines. At this point he will also be fully healed, making it difficult to defeat the Cow King once players have reach this stage of Hearthstone's tribute to the 20th anniversary of Diablo.
