Scarlett Johansson, one of the Marvel's stars will be ending a year with a blast as she was ranked as the highest grossing actor for 2016 by Forbes. It was on Tuesday, Dec. 27 when the Forbes officially announced the leading actors of this year and was surprised when Johansson was the top-grossing among the stars.

Most of the credits were given to her role in "Captain America" being the Black Widow and the "Civil War" which garnered around $1.15 billion all over the world in sales. Her role also being DeAnna Moran in the movie "Hail, Ceasar" also contributes a lot into this recognition, Daily Mail reported.

Fans were surprised when this 32-year-old woman marked a $1.2 billion in total of box office hit with her movies. Johansson happened to beat other leading stars like Chris Evans and Robert Downey, Jr. who both portrayed great roles from "The Avengers".

Forbes Magazine calculated the ranking through the global ticket sales of these top actors' film. Most of the Forbes lists were dominated by comic and superhero films with other stars on the top 5, Margot Robbie on fourth and Will Smith, The Guardian reported.

"Batman vs. Superman" stars actors like Amy Adams, Ben Affleck, and Henry Cavill were also among the lists with ranks fifth, sixth, and seventh place. The last three stars listed on Forbes were Ryan Reynolds for "Deadpool", Felicity Jones for "Rogue One", and Will Smith for "Suicide Squads".

While Johansson was known for her roles in "Captain America", she has also gained lots of recognition for her other popular movies like "Lost in Translation" and "The Prestige". This is in no doubt that this famous actress deserves to be in the limelight of Forbes annual ranking.

"I don't know if I am the right person, but I think my director and I shared the same vision for the character," the actress explained.
