This winter, it is always nice to be warm and most people head south to sunbathe in the bright sand with palms swaying in the warm breeze. Since most of the winter travels are costly, here are some places we recommend that are affordable yet at the same time comfortable.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

The stunning Jamaican spot may look posh, but there are ample of choices to help you keep the cost low. Several hotels in the area give discounts and the food and drinks are sensibly priced as well for the rest of the peak season that starts in April. Numerous flights are direct because the Montego Bay has more than a few busy airports. There are hotels priced around $70, says, Hotel.com

Cheyenne, Wyoming

Cheyenne is the sparkling city in the U.S. in the whole year particle pollution category. The state's capital, which is famed for its mountains, has endured mostly untouched by drilling and fracking. You can enjoy the fresh crisp air without spending the money you would at a ski resort. You can fly to Denver below $200 from L.A. or New York in February, and then rent a car. Various hotels offer rates below $80 per night.

Tulum, Mexico

Take a tour at the Mayan ruins, swim in their stunning bright blue waters, go diving in El Gran Cenote - a subversive cavern, and go snorkeling in one of their remarkable swimming holes. Playa Paraíso beach is free, as are many of Tulum's shores. Archaeological spots such as the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve do not charge much. There are deals below $80 in January and February, and flights are below $300.

Boracay Island, Philippines

The island is world renowned for its pristine beaches. Enjoy the laid back atmosphere for a reasonable price, even though January is not considered a peak season. Food, drinks and even massages are quite inexpensive. Hotel deals differ, but you can still get rooms for under $50 per night at a 3-star hotel, according to, Active Travel.
