Bioware developer is in a very giving mood this holiday season as they are now offering "Mass Effect 2" for free on PC. The deal is currently available on Electronic Arts' "Origins" client and can be downloaded and own for absolutely free. Gamers who have yet to use their Origins clients may want to start now as the game acts as a great introduction for first-time players who wish to become more familiar with the "Mass Effect" universe and its incredible storytelling.

"Mass Effect 2" was originally released for Windows PC, Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 back in 2010, although the PS3 would get it a year later after the PC and Xbox 360 versions. The science-fiction action RPG is easily one of the most beloved and highly acclaimed titles of the entire "Mass Effect" series and would become the benchmark for similar games released a few years later, including Andromeda.

PC gamers have been getting freebies from developers over the past few months. Ubisoft was feeling generous with their Ubi30 program, so as a way of celebrating their 30th anniversary, they gave away tons of freebies to PC gamers and capped the whole promo off by giving away "Assassin's Creed 3" for free! Now it's Bioware's turn to show gamers that they can be generous, too!

According to Nashville Chatter, "Mass Effect 2" is just the first of many other freebies that Bioware has promised to give away this holiday season. "Mass Effect 2" received universal acclaim when it was released in 2010 and is considered one of the greatest science-fiction games of all time. The game can run even on low-end laptops and computers, so gamers who do not have the latest PC's can still enjoy the title as it was launched more than half a decade ago. It's a great holiday season with all these free game downloads!
