According to Jobs & Hire, the showrunners of the teen show failed to convince Disney to renew for the fourth season. Instead, "Girl Meets World" Season 4 was passed on to Disney Channel's sister network Freeform Productions.

 has reported that the cast of "Girl Meets World" asked the help from fans of the show to encourage Disney Channel to approve the renewal. Actress Cheryl Texiera, who play's Katy Hart, (Maya's mother) appealed to the network as well as Augusto Maturo who posted a clip on his Instagram. Actor Danny McNulty who plays Harvey 'Harley' Keiner on the show has also posted an appeal on his Instagram.

The fans of the show are increasingly making a noise for "Girl Meets World" Season 4, whether or not it will be under Disney Channel or Freeform. The season 4 is expected to take a new step higher for the storyline as both Riley and Maya are about to enter college. There are no comments as of yet regarding the renewal coming from Disney Channel.
