Journalist Anderson Cooper was on vacation with boyfriend Ben Maisani  when he found out about the cheating scandal. Cooper is now spending time with friends on his Croatia trip while he copes with the news of the affair.

On Sunday, photos of Maisani kissing another man in a New York park were released. Cooper and Maisani flew to Croatia together on August 11, a day after the photos were taken, but the CNN anchor had no idea until the photos hit the media. Cooper has been dating the 39-year-old bar owner for three years.

"Anderson was with Ben in Croatia when he was told about the photos," a source told Life & Style. "They were on a yacht. They flew to Croatia on Aug. 11, one day after the photos were taken. Anderson's upset -- who wouldn't be?"

Cooper is now spending time in Croatia with 'Live' host Kelly Ripa and Bravo host Andy Cohen. In addition to scenic pictures of Croatia, Cooper has posted a few photos of himself with his friends on his Instagram account. Ripa and Cohen are a shoulder to cry on for Cooper as he gets through this difficult time.

It is not clear if Maisani is still on the vacation.

Cooper and Maisani live together at Cooper's townhouse.

Cooper, understandably upset over the issue, is most upset about the pictures and the fact that Maisani was in public when he chose to cheat.

"The pictures are what's making it a big deal," an insider told Gatecrasher.

In July, Cooper officially came out as gay. He publicly announced ''The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be more happy."

Cooper's mother, designer Gloria Vanderbilt was trying to encourage her son to marry Maisani and adopt a child together, according to the Daily Mail.
