Love is real after all. Despite the news around the globe about breakups, splits, and divorce, "Grey's Anatomy" actor Patrick Dempsey proves the world wrong when the actor and his wife, Jillian Dempsey called their divorce off. Patrick Dempsey and his wife Jillian have been married for 17 years and they are looking forward to more years to come.

In a report by the US Magazine, "Grey's Anatomy" McDreamy's wife filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences on Jan. 21 in the last year. Dempsey was reported to have an affair with a staff when he was still in "Grey's Anatomy" and speculations aroused that this fueled the divorce. Many people did not only link the issue to the divorce but also sparked rumors that this was also the reason why our McDreamy suddenly died on the popular series even when Dempsey had already signed a contract for another two seasons.

At the time when Dempsey was in the midst of saving the divorce, he exclusively tells People that his marriage was not something he was prepared to let go of. He further added, "I didn't feel like we had done all the work. And we both wanted to do that work. That's where it started." Leaving "Grey's Anatomy" also helped a lot to pick up the pieces he had more time to spend with his family. Patrick and Jillian both wanted to work on their issues and improve their relationship.

On Nov. 4, Jillian filed to have the couple's divorce dismissed and on Nov. 10, the judge granted the request, courtesy of E! News Dempsey added that his relationship with his wife is "much healthier" now and added an advice that may help couples who are also going through the same path. "You've got to keep at it," he told People. "You've got to communicate, and stay open and not get lazy. And not give up. And lots of sex!"
