Instagram, the popular online mobile photo-sharing, has announced that it will add yet another feature to its name. CEO Kevin Systrom discussed the company's goal of launching a live video feature on its app.To be able to keep up with this fast-paced world that we live in, changes and improvements are necessary to ensure that you are still ahead of your opponents. With the popularity of social media sites nowadays, one can only own so many that these sites has to fight for your attention. Thus, they have to up their games in the form of enticing features and concepts. 

"Live is really exciting for us. I think it can enhance what we're doing," Systrom mentioned. "If I'm trying to strengthen relationships with someone I love, them streaming video to me live would be an amazing way to be closer to them." With the popularity of Facebook's Live video feature that was launched last April, it is only apt for the Facebook-acquired company to follow suit as well. According to an article by The Verge, the company is proud of its success wherein live video viewers are higher compared to non-live videos.

The details to when the feature will be launched is not yet announced at the moment. However, it is already on the works as seen on an article from T Journal where they showed screenshots of them testing the said feature. Based on the pictures posted, someone you follow who is live, will be identified in the upper part of the screen where stories are shown. By clicking on the icon with the word "LIVE" on it, videos are then broadcasted. Just last August, the company received varying feedbacks on their recently launched "Instagram Stories", which was similar to Snapchat's 24-hour stories. The question now is, will it be successful too?
