Years after the split of supermodel Miranda Kerr and actor Orlando Bloom, the Australian model finally opened up about what she went through after their separation.

In her interview with Elle Canada, where Kerr is currently the December 2016 cover star, she shared that she went through depression when she and her son's father got separated.

According to an article by Daily Mail, the 33-year-old Australian model and former Victoria's Secret Angel is now happily engaged to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel while Orlando Bloom is dating American singer Katy Perry. But before she was able to finally move on, three years ago she got depressed after parting ways with Bloom.

"When Orlando and I separated, I actually fell into a really bad depression," she confesses. "I never understood the depth of that feeling or the reality of that because I was naturally a very happy person." What got her into battling depression and winning it was learning that "every thought you have affects your reality and only you have control of your mind."

Her positive outlook in life combined with a healthy lifestyle paved her way to recovery and finally moving on. She added,"And also, when I wake up and when I go to bed, I have that attitude of gratitude and I say, 'Thank you for this beautiful day, for this roof over my head, for the fact that I have my health and my son has his health, and thank you for our family."

In fact while doing the shoot, one of the stylist was stressed out about issues with Kerr's hair length and the male model's too. Seeing that the stylist was flustered, she handed him an oil which significantly eased the tension. The oil is part of Kerr's skincare line Kora Organics.
