The official website of this year's live-action "Death Note" sequel film, "Death Note Light up the New world, stated that Tori Matsuzaka will be the voice actor of a character named Bepo, a new gold-colored Shinigami and the original owner of the Death Note that Ryūzaki (Masahiro Higashide) holds.

Bepo has six fingers, and is taller than the 189-centimeter-tall Higashide.

The aforementioned site recently streamed a second clip from the film last week.

The upcoming film will debut in Japan on October 29. The three-episode prequel mini-series titled "Death Note NEW GENERATION" premiered on Hulu on September 16, and all three episode are still streaming now.

The film casts:

  •  Masaki Suda as Yūki Shien, a cyber terrorist who reveres Kira.
  •  Sousuke Ikematsuas Ryūzaki, L's successor and a world-famous detective.
  •  Masahiro Higashideas Tsukuru Mishima, a "Death Noteotaku" and an investigator pursuing the Death Notes
  •  Rina Kawaeias Sakura Aoi, the most terrible Death Note user ever, an indiscriminate murderer, and the complete opposite of Light Yagami.
  •  Mina Fujii as Shō Nanase, an investigator on the Death Note task force.
  •  Eiichiro Funakoshias Kenichi Mikuriya, a Supreme Court justice who possesses a Death Note.
  •  Erika Todaas Misa Amane
  •  Shidou Nakamuraas Ryuk
  •  Sota Aoyamaas Tōta Matsuda
  •  Miyuki Sawashiroas the voice of the new Shinigami character Ama.

Moreover, Tatsuya Fujiwara and Ken'ichi Matsuyama both maintained their roles as the self-righteous killer light Yagami and the legendary detective L, correspondingly, for the film.

Also, the film is a "forbidden sequel" to the two-previous live-action Death Note films, 2006's Death Note and Death Note: The Last Name, Animefice reports.

"In the new plot, a highly advanced information society is beset by global cyber-terrorism in 2016. New charismatic figures will emerge. The successors of the two geniuses will wage war over six Death Notes on Earth," according to Anime News Network.
