It seems that problems in the PlayStation Network are still ongoing, with Sony confirming that their core services are down as well, namely: Account Management, Gaming And Social, PlayStation Now, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store and PlayStation Music.

The PlayStation support team said, "You may have some difficulty launching games, applications or online features. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience."

Activision, on the other hand, revealed that they are working with Sony to resolve the issues: "We are currently experiencing network connectivity issues with Activision titles for players on PlayStation Network.

"We are investigating this problem, and are working hard to regain normal connectivity levels. We thank you for your patience and cooperation."

Express said that the DNS error on PS4 is currently experienced by those who are trying to play the Infinite Warfare beta.

Also, Sony earlier list all their core online services as offline, which means that some users are unable to log on to their consoles.

While Sony and Activision are looking into the problem, there have been no updates on how long this online outage will last. As a result, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta needs to be extended since many are missing out its second phase.

"We're aware that users are experiencing issues logging into PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate," the latest support message reads.

There are speculations that it might be connected to other DdoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks affecting sites or more to do with the huge amount of interest in the Infinite Warfare beta.

Aside from PSN, many other websites are down such as Twitter, Amazon and others.

According to Daily Star, the likely cause of this is the result of a DdoS attacks after hackers launched a major cyber-attack across some of the world's biggest and most popular websites.

The DdoS attacks appear to have focused on 'DYN', a company that hosts many of the major websites.

As for PlayStation UK Support, they tweeted this for their fans to read:

"We're aware that some PSN services are currently unavailable. Our engineers are investigating the problem and we will update soon."
