Lindsay Lohan is laughing off a scary episode of her life after she lost part of her finger during an accident. She posted a video of her bandaged ring finger on Snapchat, with the caption saying, "This is the result of me trying to anchor the boat by myself." She adds: "My poor finger!"

The actress says that a surgery was done to her finger to reattach it following a boating accident.

Lohan shared her side of the story and claimed that she lost half of her finger during the accident.

CBC News revealed that she was able to find the detached piece and had surgery "to fix it".

She also uploaded a picture of her finger with a caption which narrated what really happened.

"I almost lost my finger from the anchor," she said in the caption. "Well, I lost half my finger, thank goodness we found the piece of my finger...I just had surgery to fix it. It hurts so bad."

TMZ has also posted very graphic photos of Lohan's finger. The actress reportedly tried to lift the anchor but became entangled in it. The anchor pulled her down into the water and she struggled to get back in the boat while trying to untangle herself.

The anchor sliced off the tip of her finger. It was her friends who recovered the finger on the deck of the boat. They rushed Lohan to a hospital where a plastic surgeon reattached it.

The 30-year-old also made fun of herself using her Instagram account, posting a photo which reads, "one handed selfie".

Lohan did not state any specifics, particularly as to where and when the accident took place. However, the Turkish media reports that it happened in the southwestern resort town of Bodrum.

Meanwhile, the actress was in Istanbul late last month to pay a visit to a hospital for Syrian refugees and the home of a refugee family from Aleppo.

Lohan's representative did not immediately return a request for comment on Monday.
