Skybound, headed by Robery Kirkman, is responsible for one of TV's most successful series, "The Walking Dead", and "Fear The Walking Dead". Due to current opportunities in Vancouver, as well as favorable tax credits and the presence of experienced industry professionals and topnotch facilities, Skybound is setting up office in Canada, apart from their LA-based production company. The facility is set to be called Skybound North.

According to Deadline, a docu-series for AMC named "Heroes and Villains: The History of Comics" will be Skybound North's biggest debut project. In addition, the office of six-year old Skybound is set to be head by ex-LucasFilm Animation executive and producer Catherine Winder. Her body of work includes working as former SVP Production for Fox studios, and has worked on productions such as "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" series, "The Angry Birds Movie", and "Ice Age". Winder also runs her own media consulting business.

"I am incredibly humbled and thrilled to work with Robert, David, Jon and the entire Skybound Entertainment team," Winder tells Deadline. "Their commitment and ability to nurture and champion the voice of the creative community is inspiring."

Another upcoming project Skybound North is thinking of producing is the TV adaptation of Roger Zelazny's "The Chronicles of Amber". According to The Verge, as hit TV series "Game of Thrones" approaches its later series, there will be a power vacuum over who will have the best fantastical drama dealing with betrayal, murderous siblings, and magic. The 10-book fantasy series could also be another show we can look forward to being produced at Skybound North.

A lot of TV shows nowadays vary from theme to theme, but if Skybound, Kirkman, and Winder know anything, it's how to make these themes suitable to a large audience's entertainment cravings.
