"The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman said that the show will surely have a different ending than the comics.

With the show coming back on its seventh season and the comics on its 156th issue which started in 2003, Kirkman said that he wants the comics to still continue after the show has ended, so he needs to end the show without spoiling how the comics will end, according to Independent.

"I hope the show ends and the comic keeps going," said Kirkman on the AMC's Geeking Out podcast.

Kirkman also said that he already knows how he would end the comics and would have to sit down with Scott Gimple and discuss on how they will end the show but it definitely has to have a different ending than what he has on mind so the readers won't lose interest in reading the comics even after the show has ended.

"I hope the show ends and the comic keeps going. The comic was the comic before the show and so I try to maintain that. I know how I want to end The Walking Dead so I can't tell anyone because I don't want it on the show before I get it in my comic," he said.

According to Screenrant, fans of the TWD comics and TV show are well aware that both parties are separate entities though they share the same concept. Though the show has followed the territories covered in the comics like the prison, Woodbury, The Governor, and Negan on the upcoming season, there is still a difference on the two specially on characters that were already dead and still alive, it should be obvious to the fans that it's not possible that both parties will also have different endings.

Although "The Walking Dead" and the "Game of Thrones" run into the same instance where fans may refer how the next episodes will turn to the comics or book while waiting for them to air on television, TWD will satisfy the fans more for it does not adhere to the source material and would still have to watch the TV series to find out.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will air in the US on October 24 on FOX, and will finally answer the fans' question as to who the new antagonist Negan kills.
