Greg Vaughan is set to come back and reprise his role on the "Days of Our Lives" as Eric Brady and is rumored to be staying in the show until April next year.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Vaughan's return on the NBC soap is set for January 17, 2017.

Vaughan made his first appearance on "The Days of Our Lives" in 2012 as Eric Brady. On April of the current year, DOOL fans were shocked as Vaughan left the show for other gigs. This left Eric's role in the show of 5 years of prison which made fans believe and hope that he still as a chance of coming back. Later on, the actor appeared on Fox drama "Lucifer,' and "Queen Sugar" on OWN as Calvin.

"Well, it has been a wonderful ride so far, a very interesting journey. But they are a very demanding group of actors I am working with. I didn't realize how much I was going to get hazed and how everyone was going to treat me - they abuse me! They totally take advantage of me being a newbie. No - they have been great, honestly," he said about leaving DOOL.

According to a statement released by Vaughan himself, he had a chance to talk with the executives and head writers of the "Days of Our Lives" after coming toward the completion of Queen Sugar where he played a role of a married cop who's having an affair with Nova Bordelon (True Blood star Rutina Wesley).

"I've always been proud of my time and the work I contributed to Days, and I was excited at the opportunity to reunite with the cast and crew. I feel my job as an actor is about more than just stepping on stage and taking a role. I'm trying to create a presence that resonates for myself and the core of Eric Brady. I feel Eric's journey will have a huge and impactful return!" he added.
