Winter is here! There's still a few months away for the seventh installment of Game of Thrones and people just have to keep their cool. Daenerys Targaryen and her fleet will be coming in the "North" to face the white walkers and everyone is anxious for the much awaited battle.

This enthralling fantasy world showcases picturesque landscapes and castles which caused a sudden flock of visitors to its filming locations. According to Telegraph, the show played a key role in the surge of visitors to Iceland from 566,000 in 2011, when it premiered, to over a million in 2015.

Spain

A remarkable part was played by this top summer destination in season six that will extend until the succeeding season. Crew of the show is set to dock in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe to film prospective landing point for Daenerys Targaryen and her army of Unsullied and Dothraki battalion.

The Castillo de Almodóvar del Río, in the Andalusian province of Córdoba might also be a possible film location for the Highgarden, the seat of House Tyrell.

Iceland

In the next season, winter is here and a favorable spot is Iceland. It was reported that the glacier landscapes and vast greenery of the country was hit with the "Game of Thrones effect". This entailed a significant increase in their yearly tourists and visitors which scaled up to more than 1 million last year. It is known that most shots beyond The Wall were taken here.

Northern Ireland

Season seven production officially started in August at Titanic Studios in Belfast. Telegraph reports, the Game of Thrones crew were spotted at the same area where "Battle of the Bastards" was filmed.

Some of the memorable locations from previous series are Downhill Strand which is visited by Stannis Baratheon and Melisandre. Also, the Dark Hedges, an array of beech trees that line a road near Stranocum, County Antrim, and the little seaside village of Ballintoy, which becomes Pyke, capital of The Iron Islands, added by the side.
