The World Travel Awards is one of the most prestigious award giving body given annually to recognize excellence from all sectors of global travel and tourism - tourism, airline, hotel and hospitality.

As indicated on WTA's website, every year, gala ceremonies are held per geographical region to celebrate and acknowledge the success of the travel and hospitality industry.

There are three award categories to identify the nominees and then, the winners. The categories are as follows: country, regional and world awards.

Afterwards, the online voting process is done in which executives working across the different sectors of travel and tourism and its consumers can cast their votes, the site added.

For this year's World Travel Awards Europe Gala Ceremony, Ellenborough Park has been awarded the England's Leading Country House Hotel, as reported by Breaking Travel News. Wherein, other nominees for the category includes Lucknam Park and Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, BTN added.

"We are incredibly proud to be awarded the title of England's Leading Country House Hotel," Oliver Williams, Ellenborough Park's General Manager who received the awards, said "It feels like it's a fitting acknowledgment of the hard work and commitment shown by all our staff to deliver the best possible experience to our guests," Culture-Magazine, reports.

Ellenborough Park is located Cheltenham Racecourse estate which dates back to 15th century. The park was named after Lady Ellenborough, Jane Digby. She was known with her striking beauty and behavior, according to Ellenborough Park.

The Park has been restored into a luxury hotel with casual and contemporary restaurants, with an Indian inspired dual-level spa.

World Travel Awards President Graham Cooke, said "Our Voters have selected the best-of-the-best in this exceedingly competitive market and I offer my sincere congratulations to our winners following their success this evening," WTA reports.

World Travel Awards was established in 1993 and to this date, it is globally renowned to inspire practitioners to continually raise the standard and quality of their products and services.
