Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have become bitter rivals and made no secret about it. They constantly traded barbs on Twitter to let each other know how they felt. However, Katy Perry hinted at reconciliation recently and even became positive about the idea of a musical collaboration.
The singer answered some queries on her Twitter account regarding a possible team-up between her and Swift.
"If she says sorry, sure," was the Perry's short but direct reply to the question. This brief answer gave hope to fans who are waiting for the dream collaboration to happen. However, Swift has not released any reply to Perry's reconciliation offer.
How It Started
There were a lot of rumors about when and how the feud between the two Grammy nominated singers started. At first, some thought the feud t had something to do with John Mayer. It can be remembered that Mayer and Swift had a brief affair in 2010. Two years later, Perry and Mayer started dating and rekindled their romance in 2014.
The feud grew worse, as worse as the gap between the two when Perry reportedly tried to "steal" three of Swift's dancers in 2012 during the latter's world tour of her "Red" album. This was revealed by one of Swift's dancers, Lockhart Brownlie, who said that Perry's people contacted him and two other Swift dancers and asked if they wanted to join Perry. The three eventually left even before the "Red" album tour went into wraps.
The feud remained a secret until a 2014 Rolling Stone interview with Swift came out where she said that she and another well-known female artist have bad blood between them. She also stressed in that interview that it was not even about a guy but about business.
"I know people will make it this big girl-fight thing. But I just want people to know it's not about a guy," Swift claimed.
Perry further confirmed the feud when she took to Twitter and warned to "watch out for Regina George in sheep's clothing." At this time, she was referring to Rachel McAdams' character in "Mean Girls".
With Perry extending her arms for reconciliation, everyone's eyes is now on Swift whether she will accept it or not.
