A 23-year old guy has reportedly lost his life when he was hiking in Usery Mountain Park located in Mesa, Arizona. Word has it that Alex Bestler was killed by a couple of bees. Authorities said that the man's medical exam has shown was attacked by over 1,000 bees.

Word has it that the tragic incident occurred when the man was out hiking with his friend, Sonya, as the Arizona Republic reported via the International Business Times. The bees allegedly just materialized in front of the pair's view all of a sudden.

Sonya allegedly took refuge in a bathroom close by. However, Bestler was suddenly attacked by a couple of bees before he could run for refuge somewhere for safety. A hiker and the park employees allegedly tried to rescue Bestler after he was seen lying on the ground, right after he was attacked by a couple of bees. However, the approach of the group of bees was so forceful that the hiker and the park employees had to back out, as reported by The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Eventually, though, the hiker and the park employees transferred Bestler, with bees all over him, to his car. Bestler was brought to the hospital, but later died.

In a statement, Sheriff Joe Arpaio warned the public of the danger of the attacks of the bees within the area:

"These attacks are becoming more frequent and I urge the public to be aware of their surroundings when out in these areas."

According to a Washington Post data, for the year 2001-2013, bees, wasps and hornets have taken the lives of 58 people each year.

Two trails, a parking area and a public restroom are not operating until officials can find out and identify the possible future whereabouts of the bees, as reported in CNN Edition.

Bestler reportedly suffered from 1,000 stings from the bees in that park in Arizona, as reported in The New York Daily News.
