5 countries have been on the top list according to International Living research on retirement destinations based on the categories such as cost of rent, English communication, humidity and temperature, direct flights to and from the U.S. health insurance and facilities, visa requirements etc.

1.       In U.S., Panama has long been a favorite for retirees. In 2015, it has taken the top spot in the retirementir index. It is one of the lowest costs of living for foreigners in the world, the currency is US Dollar, it offers best retiree programs, crime free place, and free from earthquakes and hurricanes.

2.       Ecuador bags second position. "It's a nation where, in the right communities, you really can 'upgrade' your lifestyle," said Jennifer Stevens, executive editor of International Living Magazine. "Because day-to-day living costs a fraction of what it does up north, a nest egg stretches much further."

3.       Mexico, It has it's own attractions, including a low-cost, laid-back lifestyle. Its profoundly rich Indian and Spanish culture with spectacular beaches and charming colonial hill towns attracts many American retirees.
