During pregnancy, there are many things that one needs to consider especially when it comes to travelling. When an expectant mother decided to take an airplane ride, she has to make sure that she is prepared for it to avoid unwanted stress and pressure. So, we have some travel tips for pregnant passengers to help you have a comfortable and happy trip.

1. Research about the airline. It is important for you to know about the guidelines of the airlines for flying while pregnant. Most airlines will not allow heavily pregnant women to fly but there are others that may permit one if they can present a doctor's note. Every airline has its own rules so you have to research about it.

2. Check your body. Do not risk your life and that of the baby by immediately taking the airplane ride without checking the condition of your body. Remember that the cabin has high pressure and it might cause dizziness, shortness of breath and even swelling of joints. So you have to ask your doctor if you can take the flight and what certain things you need to prepare for that.

3. Prepare a kit for your pregnancy-related items. Apparently, you have to get one and you need to prepare this in advance. This should be handy and should be near you when you are on the plane. The travel kit includes vitamins, extra underwear, prenatal pills, healthy snacks, compression socks and others. You know what you need, so make sure you are ready with all of them, Huffington Post suggested.

4. Keep hydrated and take breaks. Baby Centre suggested that one should drink plenty of bottled water and also fruit juice to stay hydrated. Do not hesitate to take some breaks and go to the restroom. It will also help you feel comfortable if you stretch for a while or take a walk on the aisle. Or you can do some simple exercise while sitting to avoid blood clot.

5. Just relax. Of course, it is very important to just relax because if you feel overwhelmed, this would greatly affect your body and will no doubt stress you out. Just enjoy the flight and don't forget to take some rest too.
