Parkour is an extreme sport that involves moving around obstacles with ninja-like speed and grace. It is initially developed as a military discipline that focuses on getting from point A to point B in the most efficient manner. If you are an adventurous traveller and fond of extreme sports, then Parkour is definitely something you should check out. The following are the basic moves that one should know if he wants to learn Parkour.

1. Jumping Up and Down -- Most of the other moves in Parkour has a jump incorporated into them so it's sound to work on this skill. When jumping up and down, the key is to land lightly so as to not injure yourself. It's recommended to develop this skill with the use of either feet so that your jumps will be balanced.

2. Jumping Over -- This involves leaping over obstacles, usually something you can't land your feet on, and landing on better ground. The key of the skill is not being hindered by the obstacle while continuing with your route. You need to jump vertically when obstacles are high objects and jump horizontally for long objects.

3. Vaulting -- This move is launching yourself using your hands over or under an obstacle with a mere single touch. There are a lot of variations of this move but most of them makes you look like a monkey. In fact, there are moves called the 'Monkey Vault' and the 'King Kong Vault.'

4. Cat Leap -- Another move inspired by animals, the cat leap is a move where you jump to a wall or a flat vertical object and hold on to it. This move, as its name implies, makes you look like a cat on a wall after leaping from the other side. It is usually followed by a climb by pressing the arms up and propeling yourself up using your feet.
