An Australian man driving the snowmobile died while his female passenger was injured after their vehicle crashed on New Year's Day, 11 p.m. local time. The accident happened in Whistler, Canada, after a late-night snow tour.

Canadian Wilderness Adventures confirmed the death of the 65-year-old driver. 'It appears the male driver lost control of the snowmobile which caused him to leave the snowmobile track where he came in contact with a tree,' the statement said.

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old passenger was transported to Vancouver.
