Reports state that at least 1.6 million people witnessed the amazing fireworks display over the Sydney Opera house and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
All in all, it is estimated that the Sydney fireworks display costs $7 million. This year, the display was themed 'city of colour' with the bridge as the centrepiece of celebrations.
Those with a view of the city skyline were treated to 10 tonnes of fireworks exploding into the sky.
