Whether you'll be flying for less or more than an hour in a plane, it's never a bad idea to sleep on the plane. You'll have more energy once you arrived at your destination which could spell more fun and adventures for you. However, there are factors that can make your slumber inside the air transport unfavorable. These are tips on how to make your sleep on the plane more comfortable.

Before the flight, don't drink anything with alcohol, caffeine or sugar. Wine or some beer may help you fall asleep but you might end up dehydrated. It's also a bad idea to be taking in any drinks with caffeine and sugar content because these substances keep you up. If thirsty or if you just want something to sip on, get it's best to go with water or fresh juice instead.

Bring your own sleeping materials such as blindfolds, blankets and pillows in case the airline might not have these available with them. Not to mention that you'll feel more comfortable when using the ones you own and have become acquainted with.

If you can, make sure to get the window seat. When seated away from the aisle, you have a better chance at a long and uninterrupted sleep. The seats located at the back of the plane are also said to be less noisy than the ones on the front.

Try to schedule your flight in such a way that you won't be disrupting your body clock. This means you'll need to choose a flight that is during or close to your sleeping hour. If it can't be helped, you might want to reset your body clock a few days prior to your air travel. This means you will need to go to bed earlier and at the same time wake up earlier so that you can adjust to your new schedule.
