It seems that 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 20 isn't the best season for five-time DWTS champ Derek Hough. The 29-year-old professional dancer is reportedly suffering aa serious foot injury such that he may be leaving the competition a little too early.

On Monday, Hough was rushed to an emergency room after sustaining a foot injury during one of the rehearsals for the 'Dancing With the Stars' 10th Anniversary Special.

Perez Hilton has learned that Hough's injury comprises a sprained ankle, a broken toe and a damaged ligament.

Hough shared to his fans on Instagram a snap of his injured foot and captioned it: "A fluke accident happened that involved a light and some stairs. Can't believe it, wish I had a cooler story to tell."

Fellow DWTS pro Mark Ballas was with Hough throughout his stay at the hospital, and Ballas just couldn't be any more disappointed of his friend's situation.

"It sucks. It's unfortunate... Hopefully he's going to be OK. The MRI results will come in [today] probably and we'll know more, but we're just praying that everything's OK," Ballas wrote on social media.

Because of Hough's injury, his partner Nastia Liukin is reportedly practicing with another pro Sasha Farber for the time being, Daily Mail has learned.

This is actually not the first time Farber and Liukin team up during rehearsals. Everytime Hough is away for his performances in New York City with The Rockettes, Farber is the one rehearsing the routines with Liukin. Then, Hough and Liukin only rehearse together a couple of times before the competition goes live.

An update to Derek Hough's condition revealed that he was forced to pull out from the anniversary special that was taped on Tuesday night.

Not only that, he could also be exiting the show and leaving Liukin behind for the rest of the season.

His sister and DWTS judge, Julianne Hough, told E! News that her brother is very disappointed of his situation right now.

"He's super-bummed out because he's super-passionate about what he does and he wants to be there for his partner," Julianne said.

Derek is reportedly staying in a Los Angeles' rehab facility until his foot is fully healed.
