Ryan Ross who? Apparently, the handlers of British boy group One Direction are rumored to be contemplating on adding a new member to the band after Zayn Malik's exit. Rumors claim that the new member is Panic! at teh Disco lead guitarist Ryan Ross.

According to Hollywood Life, while Malik has been given an "open invitation" to rejoin 1D, the handlers of the group have decided to tap Ross to join the group.

However, it appears that the news about the addition of Ross to One Direction is nothing but pure hoax. Someone pulled a prank on the hearts of 1D fans' hearts when he or she edited One Direction's Wikipedia page and added Ross' name to the list of current members of the band.

While the people working with One Direction have yet to confirm or deny the updated list, fans took the news seriously and slammed Ross for being the rumored replacement of Malik, reports AtlPress.

"Ryan ross whoever u r i dont want u joinin one direction jst no (sic)," wrote @zjmtheloml.

"RYAN ROSS WAS IN PANIC! AT THE DISCO SO WTF IS HE DOING IN ONE DIRECTION," another fan @happydaysstyles wrote.

Ross, who exited Panic! at the Disco in 2009 to form his own band The Young Veins, poked fun at the eccentric reaction of Directioners by tweeting: "You guys got it all wrong, the four remaining members of One Direction are joining MY band."

So who is Ryan Ross? He is actually an American guitarist and singer-songwriter, who rose to considerable fame after becoming part of Panic! at the Disco when it was formed in 2004.

He is credited as the composer of the band's hit "Vices & Virtues" track for the band's third studio album.

In July 2009, Ross exited the band saying, "the split had been in the cards for sometime now. It just took everyone a while to realize it."

The now 28-year-old celeb also did some solo stuff. He released a 2-track untitled demo EP through his Soundcloud page.
