Everyone knows the nerdy boys of the Big Bang Theory adore comic books as much as they love science. But in real life, what do Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg really have in common with their characters in the show? Sheldon Cooper, for one, wants to play Batman's most mysterious nemesis someday. Yes, Jim Parsons hopes to be able to play The Riddler in a Batman movie someday.

In an interview with MTV UK, a fan asked Jim Parsons which superhero he'd like to play in a movie. "I would love to play a superhero in a movie," Parsons says, "...I would really like to play The Riddler. I don't feel they're using the Riddler very much, are they?"

As a matter of fact, despite the notoriety of Edward Nygma's alter ego in DC comics and video games (he has appeared as a minor villain but significant gameplay enhancer in all Arkham games), he has only appeared in Holywood films a few times, the most memorable of which was in Batman Forever, where he was played by an enigmatic Jim Carrey.

So, could Jim Parsons carry on the Riddler's mantle and keep the Dark Knight chasing after him in a maze of confusing queries with mysterious consequences? Sheldon would probably agree. Fans might argue that Jim's character in the Big Bang Theory is already exhibiting Riddler symptoms.

Sheldon Cooper, Jim Parson's character, much like the Riddler and his less popular identity Edward Nygma, believes that his intellect is superior to just about everyone in the world. Moreover, his ideas are constantly hard to understand, and even downright psychotic to his friends. Oh, and he wants to plant explosive chips in people's skulls that activate whenever they say something stupid.

Will Jim Parson's revelation that he wants to be the Riddler take him to a brand new stage in his career - from a plotting geek to a full-blown supervillain? Only time will tell. But hey, if Tyrese Gibson has enough guts to walk down to Warner studios and audition himself for Green Lantern after his fans persuaded him, maybe Sheldon just might have enough courage to do it himself.
