The Samsung S6 Edge, bound for release in April, 2015, prides itself on its unmatched, sleek design. The latest smartphone from the tech giant features a sexy, curved glass screen, a design that was leaked to the web before its release, making for excited customers and an unsurprising launch. But despite all this, only one question lingers on the customers' mind: is it worth buying? What exactly are the advantages and disadvantages to owning a Samsung S6?

So Metal

Samsung finally decided to ditch the plastic for hardcore metal with this flagship smartphone. It sports a metal frame and a Gorilla Glass 4 back. The latter is due to the fact that the Samsung S6 Edge also comes with wireless charging feature, which is incompatible with a full-metal case.

Smooth Curves

To create the curved screen look, Samsung S6 Edge uses a process called 3D Thermoforming. Basically, it involves inserting glass between two molds, heating it to a pliable forming temperature of 800 degrees Celsius, and then pressing it into a symmetrical shape. In this process, the glass is shaped in three directions at once, thus giving rise to its curved shape,

Specs

The Samsung S6 Edge Galaxy smartphone comes with a 5.1-inch super AMOLED QHD with 2560x1440 resolution (557 ppi pixels per inch) and screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Powered by an Exynos 7420 processor, the devices runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it also comes packed with 32GB, 64GB and128GB internal memory and LPDDR 3 3GB RAM, 16MP main camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer) and 5.0MP front snapper, and 2550 mAh (S6) / 2600 mAh(S6 Edge).

Battery Life

The device makes use of a non-removable 2550 mAh battery. Samsung executives said that the battery has long life but users will expect more. High screen resolution will also consume more power. Surprisingly, the company has the tradition of increasing camera pixel of its smartphones but it has stopped with the device by housing a 16MP camera, which is seen in its predecessor.

The latest from Samsung's Galaxy series definitely trumps its predecessor, and it's all geared up to battle Apple's iPhone 6 this year. Whether you consider these specs worth the price or not, you can be sure that Samsung S6 Edge is living up to the hype.
