With successful careers, good looks, and all the money that those first two qualities afford them, Hollywood celebrities are pretty high-flying people. Some, though, take it to another level by actually becoming a pilot. Here are some stars who take to the sky.

John Travolta
Travolta earned his pilot's license and now has five aircraft. His passion for flying is so strong that he build a 1.4-mile landing strip ending at the main entrance of one of his homes. Not only that, but he named his son Jett.

Tom Cruise
After playing a fighter pilot in the Navy for Top Gun in 1986, Cruise decided to become a pilot in real life, too. The actor earned his pilot's license 1994, from Canada.

Morgan Freeman
Perhaps fueled by his childhood dream to fly a plane, Freeman entered the Air Force. He didn't get to fly a plane, though. Instead, he worked as a mechanic. It wasn't until he was 65 that Freeman flew a plane. He now owns two airplanes and hopes to hopes to one day fly a Sino Swearingen SJ30 business jet, according to Fox News

Hillary Swank
Swank began flying planes as part of her preparation to play Amelia Earhart in a film. Although the film studio wouldn't permit Swank to fly without an instructor present, she said that she planned to complete her license so that she could take to the air unaccompanied.

Angelina Jolie
With her Cirrus SR22 airplane, Jolie can fly at speeds up to 300 miles per hour. This seems appropriate for a woman who made her mark playing action heroes. She holds a license with an instrument rating, Milion Air reports, and an interview with Vogue magazine reported that she enjoys flying barefoot.

Clint Eastwood
Eastwood has had his pilot's license for more than three decades. It seems to be a way for the mega-star to gain a little bit of privacy. He once told Ellen DeGeneres that he enjoys flying helicopters because, "You're the only one up there." He later explained to Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes, "You're just a number in the sky. Everybody pretty much leaves you alone. Charlie Xray or 71Romeo Papa. Every plane is just an ID."

Gisele Bundchen
Before giving birth to her son, the Victoria's Secret supermodel studied to earn her helicopter pilot's license.
