Paris Jewel Heist Trial - In what was recorded the most spectacular jewel heists of all time, it appears that the eight men involved in the heist are now set to go to trial. Back in 2008, eight men managed to take off with an estimated worth of $92 million jewels from the Harry Winston jewelry store in Paris.

The Paris jewel heist trial involves three men who cross-dressed and donned wigs and skirts to get into Harry Winston. Winston is a renowned jewelry store in Paris. Three of them managed to take off with $100 million worth of jewels. According to reports, the heist only took less than 20 minutes.

An estimated 297 pieces of jewelry and 104 watches were taken during the Paris jewel heist. Trial now begins for the three involved along with five others. Four of the eight men now undergoing trial had entered the same store a year before the 2008 heist. They had stolen 360 jewelry items and 120 watches.

Investigations by the French authorities state that both Paris jewel heist were orchestrated by a single group. By Tuesday, eight of the men involved in the Paris jewel heist trial begun. Yet, the scruffy looking men who slouched in their seats during the hearing were quite a far cry from the images of the men who carried out the heist at Harry Winston.

"Look at all the TV series of jewel heists, where you have people wearing masks, flak jackets. And here, we have stockings and high heels," says defense lawyer Eric Dupond-Moretti, in a report by Yahoo.

The eight men in the Paris jewel heist trial age ranges from 28 years old to 59 years old. All of the accused will be charged with a number of offenses, which include armed robbery in an organized gang, receiving stolen goods, and association with a criminal enterprise.
