Due to the magnitude and severity of bad weather conditions recently, the United States government was alarmed, declaring a state of emergency. Blizzard, hale storms, and other alarming weather calamities wrecked parts of the country leading to a State of Emergency 2015 announcement.

Governing individuals in some states including Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and Rhode Island issued State of Emergency 2015. Votes in the House of Representatives were also cancelled last Monday night because of the impending winter storm Juno. Juno was expected to damage seven different Northeast states by dumping massive amount of snow.

Anticipating the upcoming phenomenon, Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York advised to limit the service hours of their subway system. He planned to close railroads like the Long Island Railroad and Metro-North Railroad starting 11 p.m. last Monday. Aside from the subway system, New York's zoos, aquarium, parks, and recreational buildings were scheduled to close at 6 p.m. In addition, Cuomo told New Yorkers to anticipate power outages. Monday night Broadway performances were also cancelled.

"This is not a storm to take lightly, and we are taking what we believe are prudent measures," states the announcement made by the governor. Following the governor's announcement, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio cancelled all academic schools for the next day.

Noticeably, the State of Emergency 2015 is really felt throughout New York. The National Weather Service raised the red flag for New York City and surrounding areas under a blizzard warning of a huge storm that may cause serious damages on United States' largest metropolitan area. The blizzard warning was in effect until midnight of Wednesday.

Millions of people were affected by the State of Emergency 2015. The National Weather Service estimated that close to 30 million citizens were impacted by the storm. The storm progressed to an overnight snowfall causing parkways and road blockages. Let's just hope that all casualties of the State of Emergency 2015 recover immediately.
