The Apple Watch is supposed to be the most promising wearable technology since the Cupertino-based tech giant unveiled it to the market. But instead of living up to the hype, the Apple Watch has been a major bummer.

According to 9to5Mac, while the over-all marketing strategy for the multi-designed watch is very promising and efficient, the battery life of the wearable is nothing of that sort.

The problem mainly lies on the beefy processor and high-quality screen that Apple packed into its Apple Watch. The combination of the two just don't go well with the battery of the device.

From the get-go, Apple has admitted that on active use, the Apple Watch could only run for up to 2.5 to 5 hours. Then, the company also stated that the wearable tech could last for three days on standby mode and four days in sleep mode. But that is not the case.

Mercury News has learned that the techie watch's maximum batt life on active mode is 4 hours and that the standby and sleep mode couldn't also hold true to Apple's statement.

Hence, it is not surprising that consumers would be disappointed on the constant charging the device needs.

I think that's a real challenge," analyst Bob O'Donnell of Technalysis Research said. "I'm not sure people are going to be too excited about that."

"Existing smartwatches don't try to do as much as what Apple has suggested you can do with Apple Watch," O'Donnell added.

Despite the negative publicity Apple's wearable is receiving lately due to its disappointing battery life, the largest tech company has already confirmed that they will begin shipping the device this March, alongside the official release of its 12-inch MacBook Air.

Analysts even said that this will not really affect the popularity of the product since Apple is now expected to ship 2.5 million Apple Watch units in Q1 2015, MacRumors reports.
