Russia Transgender Driving Ban - The latest in bizarre news around the world comes from Russia. A new law has been passed stating that those with "sex disorders" are banned from driving. Is the latest legal amendment downright hilarious or helpful?

It appears there is no equality in the land of Russia. The latest legal amendment has banned people with "sex disorders" from getting driver's licenses. Aside from the Russia transgender driving ban, those with "mental disorders" such as voyeurism, exhibitionism, and fetishism are also banned from getting their driver's license.

The latest Russia transgender driving ban is said to have been implemented due to the number of road accidents. Compulsive stealing along with "pathological" gambling have been added to the list. Of course, the latest amendment has earned a number of complaints especially from gay-rights activists.

"I don't understand why, for example, fetishists, kleptomaniacs or transsexuals should be banned from driving a car... I think this is a violation of the rights of Russian citizens," says Yelena Masyuk, Kremlin human rights council member against the Russia transgender driving ban.

Shawn Gaylord, a member of US based organization, Human Rights First, has also spoken up against the Russia transgender driving ban. The said amendment only creates a climate of fear. While the amendment has been passed, it is unclear as to how it is to be enforced.

The list of people and organizations who have spoken up against the Russia transgender driving ban goes on. For now, there have yet to be medical tests to prove one has a "sex disorder" or "mental disorder" such as those mentioned.

Clearly, the Russia transgender driving ban has been deemed unhelpful. Quite obviously, the law doesn't specifically state how sexual preference would affect a person's driving. As for a number of social media sites, Russia is not one country to be living in - even for straight people.
