French food has been declared a world heritage by UNESCO. But one American franchise has risen to the challenge and is taking on the revered baguette.

McDonald's has launched McBaguette in Paris. Now your French fries can accompany a baguette burger. Customer, Adrien, says "I think it's good, adapting to each culture, to try out the tastes of every culture wherever they go, it's a good idea, I think."

But McBaguette is not everyone's idea of fine French pastry. Customer, Marie Claire, says "It's not a traditional French baguette, of course, We've lost the crustiness of the bread. Perhaps if it had been a little bit crustier, that would have been nice." And if the baguette doesn't do it for you, you could always gamble on a croissant.
