Apple's MacBook Air Retina might not be coming soon but MacBook users are still expecting the company to catch up with new exciting features for the device.

The new MacBook Air is anticipated to feature Intel's Broadwell processor and Retina display, according to MacWorld.

Apple has released their MacBook Air machines with excellent battery life and portability. However, theses devices suffer from poor low-resolution TN displays, TechRadar reported. Meanwhile, its MacBook Pro with Retina features a high-resolution IPS display and is considered "ultraportable." However, it doesn't have a great battery life.

Apple users are expecting the company to combine the best features of these devices on their upcoming Retina MacBook Air. The Cupertino-based corporation is said to be working on the gadget as users hope for a Retina screen. As a matter of fact, iPad Air, iPad Mini with Retina and the recent iMac 5K have already been integrated with Retina display.

Meanwhile, Apple is speculated to target Intel's Broadwell-U processor. Since the new Intel processors are energy efficient, the upcoming MacBook might come as a slimmer model since a fan isn't needed to prevent the CPU from overheating. This also allows Apple to produce a thinner, lighter and more portable

Core-M series might also come as an alternative for the MacBook Core-M series might also come as an alternative for the MacBook gadget. The Core-M series Broadwell CPU has started to appear in Ultrabooks, such as Lenovo's Yoga 3 Pro. The company may stick with Broadwell-U processor though, after a report reviewed Yoga 3 Pro to have suffered from sluggish performance, which gained poor benchmark results, according to Redmond Pie.

With regards to the cost, the critics have speculated that the new MacBook Air will retail at a more expensive price than the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, because of the fact that iPhone 6 Plus costs more than the MacBook Air when it was first released, MacWorld reported.

MacBook Air Retina was supposed to be released at Apple's event in October. Instead of showcasing a new laptop, the company choose to feature the iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 and iMac5k. Reports suggested that the release date has been postponed due to the delay of Intel's new Broadwell-series processors. The next anticipated release date is during spring in 2015.
