Kathy Griffin is now a fashion police! Yes!  The 54-year-old comedienne is now part of one of E!'s most successful shows.

Kathy Griffin's 'Fashion Police' co-hosting gig will start this January when the series returns on the air.

The 'Suddenly Susan' star's co-hosting spot for the show comes after actress-television host Joan Rivers passed away on Sept. 4 this year.

When asked about her involvement on the show, Griffin admitted that she has apparently talked about it with the late co-host.

"Ironically, she and I talked about it many times," Griffin said in an exclusive interview with People. "She would joke that, no matter what, I should always get 10 percent less than she got."

It can be noted that in early November, Griffin already gushed that the 'Fashion Police' co-hosting spot was being offered to her in the wake of Rivers' passing.

"It's definitely something that I've put a lot of thought into," Griffin said. "Obviously there is an emotional tie for me because Joan was such a good friend of mine, a close friend, truly a mentor - but also a legit friend."

"We talked about everything, and we joked about everything on the table, so it's something that I've been thinking about for a while and I think it's something they've been thinking about too," she added.

And of course, she poked fun at herself for being a paragon of fashion "don'ts" for years now.

"I have been a fashion 'don't' for years!" said new member of 'Fashion Police,' Kathy Griffin. "I used to actually laminate my 'What Was She Thinking?' pictures and put them on my refrigerator, but they then covered the entire wall. I am not afraid to be a 'do' or a 'don't.' We'll see what happens."

Fortunately for Griffin, she already got Joan River's daughter Melissa River's and the show producer's blessing on her co-hosting gig, reports The Independent.

Griffin is set to join regular 'Fashion Police' co-hosts Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and Melissa.

On the other hand, it still isn't clear whether George Kotsiopoulos will still be part of the fashion critique show.

Unfortunately, though Kathy Griffin's 'Fashion Police' co-hosting gig is good news for many of the show's avid viewers, it has already been confirmed that the E! series will scrap its usual weekly format, and will instead air only whenever there are awards shows and special events, Us Weekly has learned.
