Napoleon hat $2.4 million was sold at a recent action. A collector from South Korea, whose identity has not been revealed, purchased the famous chapeau.

Auction experts initially thought that the hat would be sold for $500,000. They had not expected, not even a little bit, that it would be a Napoleon hat $2.4 million or 1.9 million Euro purchase. Robin Meade said via HLN, "A guy paid more than $2 million. It was sold at an auction to a collector in South Korea. Experts originally thought it might sell for $500,000."

The hat was previously owned by the Royal Grimaldi Family of Monaco before it was given to the auction for history buffs to attempt to own. It was auctioned off for nearly five times its estimated value, which was between 300,000 and 400,000 Euros.

Moreover, comparing this famous Napoleon hat $2.4 million purchase to some of the other royal items that were placed on auction, the chapeau was not sold short.

The recently sold black felted beaver fur "bicorne" hat is actually only one of the remaining 19 examples of the French Emperor's interestingly strange headwear.

Just last year, one of the dresses that the late Princess Diana once wore while dancing with famous actor John Travolta got sold at a certain auction for nearly $360,000. An entire collection of her gowns and dresses got sold for approximately $1.2 million.

Plus, in 2011, one of the strange hats that Princess Beatrice wore to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton got sold for about $127,000.

As for Napoleon Bonaparte, one of his teeth and a lock of his hair even got included in past auction sales. However, this recent Napoleon hat $2.4 million purchase was the most interesting and most epic among them all. Nearly two centuries after the 19th century Emperor of France had died, and the sales of the items that used to belong to him are going off the charts.
