Happy meal recall - McDonalds has recalled over 2.5 million of their Happy Meal toys, Hello Kitty, over its possible choking hazard and asphyxiation. The Happy Meal recall has been done in a number of restaurants over the United States and in Canada.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the said Hello Kitty toys included in the Happy Meal recall contains parts that could cause choking. The Hello Kitty toys that have the whistles are asked to be brought back to the restaurant they were purchased. In exchange, the food chain will hand out a different toy plus the customers' choice of bag of sliced apples or yogurt.

"By reporting as fast as they did, CPSC and McDonald's were able to work together to get the word out to parents, grandparents and other caregivers to help prevent any other incidents or serious injuries," says Elliot Kaye, CPSC Chairman in an exclusive report by the Daily Finance. "We urge all parents and other caregivers who believe they might have received one of these Hello Kitty whistles from McDonald's to act on this recall immediately."

Following the Happy Meal recall, were there reports of children already choking over the Hello Kitty toys? A report by Daily Finance claims that two children had almost fallen victim to asphyxiation. The two kids had coughed out the small parts of the whistle whereas one of the kids involved had even required immediate medical attention.

For those who have yet heard of the Happy Meal recall, the toys that should be sent back to McDonalds involve the Hello Kitty toy holding a pink lollipop which included a red whistle. The toy is about three inches big that is a potential hazard to children.

The Happy Meal recall involves 2.3 million of the Hello Kitty whistles which had been distributed starting the month of October to November.
