Meg Ryan Mellencamp and John Mellencamp have reportedly gotten back together. The 52-year-old "You've Got Mail" star and the 63-year-old rock singer and songwriter have decided to end their three-year courtship in August, but it looks like they have thought about giving their relationship another try.

An insider said, "They are back together and it's brand new. They're really happy about it."

Meg Ryan Mellencamp and John Mellencamp were spotted on October 15th as the two of them were walking around the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan.

The news that the two of them have reconciled came one mother after John Mellencamp reportedly praised the actress on the "Today" show on NBC. He told the show's host that Meg Ryan Mellencamp is "an angel sent to me, and I'm very happy."

He then added, "And, you know, nothing's over 'til it's over." It looks like the rocker is pretty hopeful that reconciliation between himself and the actress could be in the works.

Their relationship started out in a relatively subtle manner. More often than not, the couple has kept the goings-on, when it comes to the both of them, quiet and private. They first went out in 2010, after John Mellencamp was officially off the hook from his ex-wife of 18 years, Elaine Irwin Mellencamp.

Meg Ryan Mellencamp, on the other hand, also had her fair share of marriage. She used to be married to actor Dennis Quaid for 10 years. They have a son together, Jack Henry. Eventually, they both opted to get a divorce. Apart from their son, she also has a daughter, whom she adopted from China, named Daisy True.

Sources claim that John Mellencamp's declarations were "definitely meant for Meg to hear. He's letting Meg know he loves her and very much wants her back in his life."
