Mark Driscoll scandal is a wide topic amongst Christians. For those who don't know, Mark Driscoll is a pastor based in Seattle who had started the church, Mars Hill Church in the year 1996. Mars Hill has grown to 13,000 members with its ministries reaching Arizona, California, Oregon, New Mexico and Washington.

With the Mark Driscoll scandal, everyone is asking how did the pastor who started one of the biggest Christian churches fall from grace? According to Christian Headlines, it had begun in five phases. First off, Driscoll had been accused of plagiarising his book "A Call to Resurgence" from the writings of Peter Jones of Westminister Seminary California.

Another phase in the Mark Driscoll scandal mentioned was the pastors' inappropriate use of Mars Hill church funds.

"Mars Hill had to refund to some donors some funds and had to admit that money was not being used for global missions, but being used in the Seattle-based church," stated the source.

Adding to the Mark Driscoll scandal were claims that the 43-year old pastor had utilized abrasive and bullying management styles. Even if his sermons are heard across the globe, some of his messages have been rude and provocative.

"Mr. Driscoll became a celebrity in conservative Christianity, a sought-after speaker and prolific author known for a celebration of masculinity that helped Mars Hill attract young men, a demographic noted in church life mostly for its absence," reports the NY Times.

In the midst of the Mark Driscoll scandal, the pastor had already filed for resignation as the leader of Mars Hill church in Seattle. His resignation was sent in last Oct. 14.

"Prior to and during this process there have been no charges of criminal activity, immorality or heresy, any of which could clearly be grounds for disqualification from pastoral ministry," stated an excerpt from Mark Driscoll's resignation letter published on the Religion News Service website.

Regarding the Mark Driscoll scandal, the elders in the ministry are currently investigating the pastor and his alleged shameful behaviour.
