An Ohio wedding day crash has turned a couple's dream come true into a nightmare after the groom was pronounced dead and the bride listed in critical condition.

According to USA Today, the Ohio wedding day crash happened on Sunday just a few hours after the groom identified as 27-year-old Andrew M. Bloomfield and his bride, 37-year-old Ruth D. Driskill, exchanged their wedding vows.

The couple reportedly tied the knot in an Antrim Township wedding ceremony, and little did they know that at exactly 4:49 p.m. that same day their pact of loving each other until death separates them would be realized a little too soon.

Ohio wedding day crash reports state that aside from the groom, an Elizabeth M. Shelton was pronounced dead at the scene by Wyandot County Coroner Joseph Sberna.

The bride was transported using a medical helicopter to St. Rita's Hospital in Lima, Ohio, the same hospital where her groom was pronounced dead earlier.

Timothy N. Tebbe, the driver of the 2014 Dodge Ram quad cab pickup was also transported to nearby hospital St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo.

As of late, both Driskill and Toledo are listed in critical condition.

Initial investigation on the Ohio wedding day crash reveals that the driver lost control of the pickup as it traveled off the west side of the road, hitting an embankment, said Wyandot County Sheriff Michael Hetzel, WUSA9.com has learned.

Hetzel noted that after the truck hit an embankment, it began to roll until it hit a utility pole and rolled a couple more before it completely came to a halt in a cornfield.

While Bloomfield and Shelton were quickly ejected from the vehicle, Driskill and Tebbe had to be freed using an extraction device.

Wyandot East EMS, Fire and Rescue and Upper Sandusky Emergency Medical Service assisted the removal of all four at the scene of the crash, reports Detroit Free Press.

"Andy Bloomfield was my best friend, my brother," Jessica Lehner, Bloomfield's friend said. "He was always there for me and I wouldn't ever let him down nor would he let me down. He meant the world to me. He was always there for me and my brother and my family."

An investigation on the Ohio wedding day crash is still on-going.
