"The Mortal Instruments" might make a comeback but not as a movie but a television series. The best-selling novels written by Cassandra Clare is set to be adapted as a series. The big question of course is will the original movie cast reprise their roles in the television series?

The movie of "The Mortal Instruments" was based on the first book, "City of Bones" in the six book series. The film starred "Harry Potter's" Jamie Campbell Bower and "Stuck In Loves'" Lily Collins. Despite the huge fan base the book had, the film was not much of a hit which would explain the delay in the second film.

Now, it seems "The Mortal Instruments" just might make a big comeback in the form of a television series. The production company in charge of producing the film has now made a deal to produce "The Mortal Instruments" as a television series.

"It actually makes sense to do (the novels) as a TV series. There was so much from the book that we had to leave out of the Mortal Instruments film. In the series we'll be able to go deeper and explore this world in greater detail and depth," stated Martin Moszkowicz, Constantin film and TV head in an exclusive report by the Hollywood Reporter.

While the reports over "The Mortal Instruments" film being turned into a series is a good call, fans are asking if the original cast would remain. Given both Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower had plunged into a number of projects after the films' release, it would be highly unlikely they'd ever get back to the series.

Cassandra Clare of course has left fans wondering on the cast details for "The Mortal Instruments" television series as well. For now, all fans can do is wait and see if Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower would head back for the TV production of "The Mortal Instruments."
