Red Bull is set to issue a refund to its consumers after finally agreeing with a $13 million settlement reached on August.

The said brand of energy drink has finally reached an action regarding with their settlement for a lawsuit filed against them by their own consumers in the United States. The customers believe that they are misled by the company's false advertisement about their product's benefits especially with their controversial slogan which reads: "Red Bull gives you wings."

It can be recalled that in January 2013, a group of product users led by Benjamin Careathers has filed the lawsuit against the company citing its false advertisement. The group believes that they were deceived by the company's untruthful claims about their products real benefits as they thought that the said energy drink can increase someone's speed and performance. With that, Red Bull agrees to issue a refund to their buyers although the court did not yet give its decision.

According to a report from ABC News, the settlement was reached after several factors have been considered such as the cost of the litigation. According to the legal action reached, the Red Bull will issue a refund to the customers who purchased the product from Jan. 1, 2002 until Oct. 3, 2014. Qualified recipients will be given a payment for a $10 or $15 worth of product.

Although the energy drink company has already agreed to pay the amount mentioned in the agreement, they still claim that they did nothing wrong. According to reports, they still believe that they have been only truthful in their advertisements.

To the consumers who wanted to receive a payment, the company suggests to submit an online claim form before March 2, 2015. A hearing will take place on May 1, 2015 for the court to decide if they will approve the said settlement. Red Bull will refund its customers after 150 days following the court's approval.
